Second Chance Wildlife

Second Chance Wildlife Rescue Association (SCW) is a volunteer based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving and protecting native wildlife through education, rehabilitation, and conservation. We do this by raising, rehabilitating, and releasing orphaned and injured wild animals so they can return to their natural habitats. The educational services and training that our volunteers provide for Ohio communities enable others who are passionate about native wildlife to join us in our conservation efforts.

Second Chance Wildlife was founded in 1991, after the Cincinnati Zoo discontinued its Raise and Release Program. Our organization is a large network of in-home wildlife rehabilitators, volunteers, and other members throughout the United States. We provide rehabilitation care to over 3,500 native species of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians every year. By continuing to provide public education and volunteer training, we combat human encroachment on natural habitats and help to preserve our ecosystem.

Second Chance Wildlife Rescue Association has been successful over the last 26 years rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing animals in Ohio. Animals that we see on a regular basis include raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, woodchucks, opossums, songbirds, geese, and ducks.
