During Earth Week 2025, Go Green Go was pleased to organize our first “micro-plog” series in Hudson, Ohio. In an effort to keep the event fun and engaging, we limited each of the 4 events to 60-90 minutes. Hence the name “micro-plog”! We focused on specific areas around town, in a guided, fast-moving effort. Areas were chosen for their proximity to waterways, green spaces and potential wild life.
This series drew 26 participants who volunteered a total of 39 man-hours to collect approximately 725 pounds of litter. Our biggest take was on Earth Day, where our biggest group of 12 people collected nearly 400 pounds in 1 hour, along the train tracks, much of it intentionally dumped.
This event was made possible by a generous grant from the Hudson Garden Club, and from support in the form of giveaways from Open Door Coffee, Vertical Runner, and About350 Creative. We were pleased to again partner with the City of Hudson for this event.
Since we started litter clean-up events in 2019, we have collected over 2000 pounds! That’s one full ton! A massive thank you to our supporters, sponsors and volunteers, who make this all possible!
