Climate Change: Why Should Ohio Care? Join us April 5, 2018

The Climate Reality Project, Renewable Hudson and GoGreenGo.org will be hosting a climate change presentation on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 7:00pm at The Hudson Library.  Entitled “Climate Change: Why Should Ohio Care?”,  the program will be presented by Eric Hancsak, and Ken Nadsady. Eric and Ken are both Hudson residents and Climate Reality Leaders trained by former Vice President Al Gore and The Climate Reality Project.

Also presenting will be Captain Steve Brock, U.S. Navy (ret). Captain Brock, a Hudson native and graduate of both Hudson High School and the U.S. Naval Academy, has spent a career in intelligence and national security policy at the Pentagon, State Department, fleet staffs, forward deployed and at the White House as a Director on the National Security Council.  He will be speaking on the national security and military readiness implications of climate change.

Not only will the speakers discuss the broad scope of climate change based on current trends and decades of scientific study, but they will also provide solutions that we can implement right now to fight the climate crisis.  “In Ohio, we are beginning to see the effects of climate change in our own back yards. But there are many parts of the U.S., just a car ride away, that are dealing with problems much more severe,” explains Eric Hancsak, a business owner and twelve-year resident of Hudson. “The level of urgency required to address climate change is only growing, but there is a very hopeful side to the equation too.”

“Leading climate scientists, and we climate leaders, believe the problem can be solved. But it’s going to take an all-hands-on-deck approach. We have time. But it’s very limited.” says Ken Nadsady, who is also a local solar installer. “We hope this presentation helps engage the community.”

The Climate Reality Project mission is to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every level of society. Renewable Hudson is a social media effort (@RenewableHudson) aimed at promoting renewable energy and environmental awareness in Hudson. The GoGreenGo.org mission is to turn environmental awareness into action by connecting citizens with regional organizations that match their interests.
