It’s Time to Act! A Letter From the Founder of Go Green Go.

Dear Friends,

I am writing you today for a few reasons. Number 1 is to reconnect. As you may or may not have noticed, Go Green Go has been pretty quiet in recent months. All I can say is, sometimes life comes at you!

While on the outside it might look like we’ve been away, I’m very proud to say our directory remains active and flourishing – connecting hundreds of Ohioans with grassroots environmental groups, while thousands of others access our listing for important information.

I’m excited to tell you that we’re getting ready to go live with a batch of new organizations, which will grow our listing even more!

In addition, I pledge to you that we will become more active and consistent with our messaging and promotional activities, so that in the uncertain days ahead, we can become a powerful source of support for environmental causes and to the people and organizations that do this essential work. Our mission is, after all, to turn awareness into action by engaging people in solutions to the climate crisis and other environmental issues. Go Green Go needs to, and will do a better job of engagement and action in the coming weeks, months and years.

Which brings me to the most important reason I’m reaching out today.

As champions of environmental causes and climate action, this past week’s election can’t been seen as anything other than a disaster. There is no sugarcoating it. But what we can do is go to work, resist, organize, and fight.

There is no doubt that we’ve been knocked down the mountain, and now we have a broken arm and an intimidating climb ahead of us. But that said, there may not be a more crucial time in our history for climate activism. Your voices, actions and organizations will be required to help get us through this time, and I promise you, we will be here to walk with you and do our part.

Be intimidated. Be scared. But by all means be motivated. Be steadfast, and be hopeful. We will need all hands to make this work. Let’s get them dirty.

Do something GOod!

Respectfully,

Eric Hancsak
