Friends of the Scioto River

The Scioto watershed comprises all of the streams in Franklin County, and large parts of surrounding counties. Friends of the Scioto River connects shared interests in the well-being and enjoyment of the greatest natural feature of our region.

Our Concerns Are:
• Reluctance to "own" watershed problems
• Out-dated practices damaging the environment
• Irresponsibility for the quality of water we send downstream
• Detrimental land-use practices in the headwaters
• Degradation of streams in urban settings
• Public health and safety risks from tainted waters
