The Compost Exchange

The Compost Exchange is a food scrap recycling service for residents in Central Ohio. Our mission is to divert over a million pounds of food scraps from our landfills every year and to educate Columbus residents about the many benefits of composting such as the prevention of GreenHouse Gases, improving soil and water quality, and the reduction of chemical use in agriculture. We strive to make composting as easy, affordable, and efficient as possible.

TCE provides a curbside pick-up or drop-off service for our members. Curbside pick-up is like any other trash or recycling pickup service, once a week you set out the bucket we provide you and we pick up your food scraps, easy as that! Our drop-off service is provided at a number of Whole Foods and local farmers markets in the area. Our members are also provided with free compost whenever they want!
